1 Agreement to Terms

By accessing StoryVerse ("Service", "Platform", "We", "Us", "Our"), you agree to comply with and be legally bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms", "Agreement"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you must immediately cease using the Service.

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Your continued use of the Service following any changes constitutes acceptance of those changes.

2 Eligibility & Age Requirements

Minimum Age: You must be at least 13 years old to use StoryVerse. If you are between 13 and 18 years old (or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction), you may only use the Service with parental or guardian consent.

Compliance: By using this Service, you represent and warrant that you meet the age requirements and have the legal capacity to enter into this binding agreement.

3 Account & Anonymous Usernames

Anonymous Access: StoryVerse automatically generates random, anonymous usernames stored in your browser session. No registration, email, or personal information is required or collected.

Session Storage: Your anonymous username is stored locally in your browser. Clearing your browser data will result in a new username being generated.

No Account Recovery: Due to the anonymous nature of our Service, we cannot recover usernames or content if you clear your browser data.

4 User-Generated Content

4.1 Content Ownership

You retain all intellectual property rights to content you create and post on StoryVerse. By posting content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable, and transferable license to use, reproduce, distribute, prepare derivative works of, display, and perform your content in connection with the Service and our business operations.

4.2 Content Standards

You are solely responsible for all content you post. You agree that your content will NOT:

• Violate any local, state, national, or international law or regulation
• Infringe upon intellectual property, copyright, trademark, or other proprietary rights
• Contain malware, viruses, or any malicious code
• Promote or incite violence, terrorism, or hatred
• Contain harassment, bullying, threats, or intimidation
• Include sexually explicit content or pornography
• Exploit, sexualize, or endanger minors
• Promote illegal activities, substances, or self-harm
• Impersonate any person, entity, or falsely represent affiliations
• Contain spam, advertising, or unsolicited promotions
• Include personal information of others without consent (doxxing)
• Engage in discrimination based on protected characteristics

4.3 Content Moderation

We reserve the right (but have no obligation) to monitor, review, and remove any content that violates these Terms or is otherwise objectionable. We may take action without prior notice, including suspending or terminating access to users who repeatedly violate these Terms.

5 Prohibited Conduct

In addition to content restrictions, you agree NOT to:

• Access or attempt to access non-public areas of the Service
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers/networks
• Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) without permission
• Manipulate votes, engagement metrics, or other features
• Create multiple accounts to evade restrictions
• Collect user data without consent
• Reverse engineer or decompile the Service
• Frame, mirror, or link to the Service without permission

6 Intellectual Property & DMCA

6.1 Copyright Policy

We respect intellectual property rights and comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). If you believe your copyright has been infringed, please provide us with:

• A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner
• Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed
• URL or location of the allegedly infringing material
• Your contact information (email, phone, address)
• A statement of good faith belief that use is unauthorized
• A statement that the information is accurate and you're authorized to act

6.2 Repeat Infringers

We will terminate accounts of repeat copyright infringers in appropriate circumstances.

7 Privacy & Data Collection

Minimal Data Collection: We do not collect personally identifiable information. However, we may collect:

• Anonymous usage statistics via Google Analytics
• Technical data (IP addresses, browser type) for security purposes
• Cookies and local storage for functionality

8 Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or course of performance.

We do not warrant that: (a) the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free; (b) defects will be corrected; (c) the Service is free of viruses or harmful components; or (d) the results of using the Service will meet your requirements.

9 Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, StoryVerse and its affiliates, officers, employees, agents, partners, and licensors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses.

Maximum Liability: In no event shall our aggregate liability exceed $100 USD or the amount you paid us in the past 12 months, whichever is greater.

10 Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

Governing Law: These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law provisions.

Arbitration: Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through binding arbitration, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in court.

Class Action Waiver: You agree to resolve disputes on an individual basis only, and waive any right to bring claims as a class action.
